Vision

A fairer, greener and stronger capital city

Our vision for a new, highly-sustainable community at Thornhill on the northern edge of Cardiff, close to existing key commuter train and bus services

The 165 hectare site – under single ownership – presents a unique opportunity to create a development that aligns squarely with Cardiff City Council’s aspirations for a fairer, greener and stronger capital city.

The new community of 1,300 low-carbon market and affordable homes would be set in a 100 hectare wooded parkland, opening up privately-owned land for the wellbeing of all Cardiff’s residents – and finally connecting Wenallt Woods with Craig Llanishen and Heol-hir Country Park for all to enjoy.

Fairer Greener Stronger

Our proposal could:

  • Help create a fairer Cardiff by delivering 400 of the city’s most energy-efficient affordable homes, which could be under Cardiff City Council’s ownership; and, by using the parkland and a proposed community hub to provide education, training and health opportunities for those who need them most;
  • Help create a greener Cardiff by ensuring every new resident can travel into – and beyond – the city without using a car; through significant investment in non-car infrastructure; and, through low-carbon housing;
  • Help create a stronger Cardiff by investing in home and community workspaces with superfast broadband to support a thriving and growing economy in a post-COVID world.
